As a new mom, traveling can be extremely overwhelming. Add in the heat and not staying on schedule can be a recipe for disaster. With the holiday weekend ahead, I figured many of y’all may be heading to the beach. Here are the things that worked for us.
To start the day, we went ahead and got all the way dressed for the beach with sunscreen put on up at the house to give it enough time to soak in. We have been using this Neutrogena pure and free 50 SPF baby sunscreen. Knock on wood, baby has not gotten burnt using this. I will pack the beach bag with regular baby diapers and multiple swim diapers. For feeding, I will pack bottles already scooped out of formula (not mixed) and filtered water to mix down at the beach. I will put in a dry swimsuit. We love anything Beaufort Bonnet company for children’s swim. Beaufort Bonnet make the cutest, highest quality baby swimwear. I highly recommend using SPF rash guards. I love these baby hats. Linked is one from amazon that has lots of great colors. Don’t forget to pack my favorite baby hooded towel coverup from Weezie towels. We would put baby in this coverup and a fresh diaper after the day on the beach.
For toys, I can’t recommended more that less is more. You will already have tons of stuff to go down to the beach for the day with. However, I do recommend this sand toys baking set. Also, the Mambobaby float is our favorite. Charlie is so happy, straight chilling in this float.
Lastly, I encourage you that a well rested baby is a happy baby. I would recommend going up during the heat of the day and getting some good nap time in the air conditioning. That worked well for us. It can be hard to stay on schedule on vacation, especially if you are visiting with friends and/or family. You know your baby best mama! Go with your gut!! Do what is best for you and your baby.
